Sisterly Love

We got the girls a bunk bed not too long ago. Nya decided she isn't as excited to sleep on the top as she was in the beginning. She says she gets too hot. I told her it was okay with me if she wanted to sleep on the bottom with Aleaha. It is a full size bed on the bottom, so there should technically be enough room. I say technically because well, take a look...

I guess there is just nothing quite as comfy as sleeping on your sister!

Valentine Ball

Our ward has an annual Primary Valentine Ball where we get to dress up, dance with the family, and enjoy treats. My camera died shortly after we arrived but I was able to catch a few of our fun moments before it did!

This is a picture of Aleaha enjoying the "new" toy box. I bought it for $10, cleaned it up, and refinished it for the kids playroom. Kade even helped me paint it and he did a great job!

Christmas At Our House!

We had a great Christmas! The kids were so excited to finally get to open the gifts they had been wishing they could reach on top of the plant shelves! We came up with the idea to put them up there when Kaleb was one. You might think we put them up there now because Aleaha (being one) will get into them, but it's still Kaleb that we worry about!

Grandma Rasmussen had given us the unfortunate news the Saturday before Christmas that Rudolph had such a bad cold that his nose had turned green! She said she had heard it on the radio and was very concerned if Santa would be able to find everyone without Rudolph. Nya asked me at least once a day if he was better yet and if I thought his nose could really turn green. Finally on Christmas Eve we crossed our fingers and looked to the Santa tracker on the internet. The kids (especially Nya) were very pleased to learn that Rudolph was over his cold and Santa was on his way! However, the kids were a little confused by the gifts Santa brought them. Each of them unwrapped a Wii remote. We don't have a Wii so we thought that maybe he wanted them to be able to have their own remote when we went to our friends the Horton's to play. Finally, the last gift we opened was our very own console! Thank you Santa! We love our new Wii!

Snow Fun!

The kids have been waiting for there to be enough snow to go sledding. Since Sunday isn't the best day for us to go sledding, they have been very frustrated that the weather always seems to be the best on that day. They were thrilled to wake up Monday morning and have there still be plenty of snow. We got everyone bundled up which is always quite the process with four kids but even more of an ordeal when one seven year old is quite particular about the way she looks in all the gear. We won't mention how "ugly" black snow pants are or how "puffy and fat" they make us look! And of course we definitely won't talk about how "weird" we look in snow hats! So finally after mom got a little creative and we figured out how to please even the pickiest of sledders, we were on our way to hit the "grassy hill." The grassy hill is actually in one of the common areas of our neighborhood. It is the perfect size for rolling down in the summer time and sledding down in the winter. Here are a few of our fun moments I was able to catch before the battery died on my camera! Notice in one of the pictures Kade decided he was tired of sledding the regular way and had the idea to use the sled as a snowboard. He looks like quite the "dude!" He is sure dad needs to buy him a snowboard now! And the last picture shows how excited Aleaha was to leave!
